update! music and comments
hey
i’ve been cooking up some small updates to this site. it’s making me realise how completely fucking washed up i am when i’m not using frameworks and just raw dogging css instead of tailwind things but it’s becoming worth it practice i guess.
i’m starting to run into the problem of an increasingly convoluted and inconsistent css file. i think this is because i haven’t set up a design system or style guide for my site and have just been winging it, although i have no fucking clue how to do that anyway.
in other news i have added comments and a music player to my site. i thought adding comments would be a pain in the ass but i found html comment box and it’s surprisingly a pretty quick install and works perfectly fine on static sites. it has likes, replies, images, everything i think anyone would want in a comment section. + it’s free btw
the music player was a lot harder. sure there are music player plugins out there but in my experience they have way too much bloat and are fucking horrendous to customise or change in any meaningful way. i found a minimalist js music player online which i forked and styled. it works fine enough but the way this guy codes is confusing and it’s also a bit delayed so i’ll need to work on it more. you can find the music player on the guys website here: code-boxx.com
some other things i want to do with the site that i can think of are:
- fill up the main page with actual content and make a proper layout
- clean up my css files and fix my bunk ass styling
- about me page?
- maybe do some of those shrines that i see people doing
- click on certain links to explore special themed pages with easter egg
idek, my brain is fried. i’m typing this with no sleep.
